Lewis deSoto: Tales of Power
Lewis de Soto is known for working in a wide range of media, from intimate to large scale public art commissions, exploring an equally wide range of themes and subjects. His work is included in numerous public and private collections around the U.S. The exhibition is the latest in a series of Gatehouse Gallery exhibitions featuring recent work from notable artists in the di Rosa collection.

Celebrate & Enjoy a day at the Preserve
Enjoy the live music of the Pine Needles while picnicking in the Olive Grove, access to the Preserve Galleries and Sculpture Meadow, fun art and nature activities for the whole family, such as sketching from a live model and hiking to Milliken Peak.
Bring your own lunch, wine and blanket. Beer and water will be provided.
The picnic is free to members and their guests.

Plein Air Painting
Artist and educator Gretchen Kimball leads a special plein air painting workshop in the Olive Grove overlooking the Sculpture Meadow and rolling vineyards. The experience includes a tour of the di Rosa Preserve, instruction, art materials and boxed lunches from the girl and the fig.

An exhibition exploring the creative talent exploding in Oakland today. Oakland, long-time host to a vital visual arts community, has recently begun to receive widespread regional and national recognition for the range and quality of its artists and a growing group of new galleries devoted in large part to contemporary art. Organized by di Rosa Preserve curator Michael Schwager, There! will present a cross-section of contemporary artists who live and work in Oakland and contribute to the energy and vitality of Bay Area art.
